This restaurant is out of this world!
Rank #4 of 17
It doesn't look like much. The interior is okay. Nothing special. You will not be impressed...until the food comes!
Just for a little background. I am a white male who has never been to India. I do, however, tell everybody that Indian food is my favourite.
I eat Indian at least twice a week. Sometimes it is home-made. Most of the time it is from a restaurant. I have tried every Indian restaurant from Toronto to Kitchener.
The short list is short. The Host in Toronto is good. The Host in Mississauga is not. Tandoori Flame in Brampton is good. Neither are excellent. The Indian restaurants where I now live (Guelph) and the surrounding area (Kitchener, Cambridge, etc) are disappointing. I have eaten at at least 20 different Indian restaurants in Ontario. And some in Europe too. None compare.
Only one Indian restaurant I know of is excellent. BOMBAY BHEL at Erin Mills and Battleford in Mississauga!
Every dish I have tried is excellent.
I travel an hour on the 401 from Guelph to go to this restaurant regularly. I get excited on the drive.
I have many friends and family members(parents, three brothers, one sister, and all their spouses) that KNOW this is the best Indian restaurant around. We go there regularly. Some of them travel farther then I do just to enjoy a great meal.
I hope you give this review credence. I hope you ignore the whiners posting comments here because they don't know what good Indian food tastes like. Oh - and to the previous poster complaining about the food not being freshly cooked and pre-made...IT'S CALLED SLOW COOKED. HOW ELSE ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET THE SPICES AND SAUCE INFUSED INTO YOUR VEGETABLES, MEAT AND PANEER?!? If you didn't do this it would taste like a stir fry somebody poured a sauce on to.
I implore you to give it a try. I regularly get the Karahi Paneer. Fantastic. At Bombay Bhel I do not eat until I am full. I eat until I hate myself. I can't help it.
